Book of Crystals

February 24, 2015

We are in love with artist Alexis Arnold‘s idea to transform old phonebooks, magazines, bibles and more into beautifully “frozen”, geological specimens.  These beautifully crystalized books make us want to grab any item we can think of and transform it into a shimmering artifact. Arnold says, “The crystals remove the text and transform the books into aesthetic, non-functional objects.”  Her idea for this stemmed from constantly finding boxes of empty books, the surge of e-books and the shuttering of bookstores.

Aussie’s Guide to Festival Fashion

February 20, 2015

Coin stacked collars, flowing fringe and vintage zeppelin tee’s flock the festival ground in the land down under and cause us to reconsider and possibly relocate our U.S. festival tour. This year we’re using the babes from across the pond as our guide and inspiration for festival fashion.

It’s not hard to gravitate towards the aesthetic that many of Australia’s most popular music festivals portray, including Splendour in the Grass and Byron Bay Blues Fest. There’s never a challenge to big, a pattern too crazy or a headpiece too daunting, these bohemian babes rise to the challenge year after year.

Intricate headpieces scream gypsy-festival-goddess.  This year we’re focusing on eye-catching head treatments and letting our inner goddess glow.  Shop some of our beautiful head adornments here.  We’ve also shared some tips on how to style your headdress while prancing through fields and head banging to your favorite bands.
